Furniture Pilot - We are excited to announce that Mrs. Conger's classroom is getting a makeover with new furniture! As part of the elementary upgrade within the recently passed referendum, we will be piloting some innovative furniture designs to create a more modern and engaging learning environment. This transformation is set to happen on Wednesday! Stay tuned for updates on visiting the classroom and how the selection/purchasing decisions will be made.
Mr. Max & Mr. Blake - Thank you to Mrs. Englebert, Miss Jurek and Mrs. Dorow for hosting Max and Blake first trimester. They will be participating in a different experience this 2nd trimester, starting Dec. 2nd. Mr. Blake will finish his days with Mrs. Heim from 2:05-3:15. Mr. Maz will support Mrs. Dorow's class during their specials time and finish up the day with Mrs. Hamilton's friends.
Safety Vests - You may notice our EAs sporting some new safety vests. :) The team had a lot of discussion and ultimately chose these fancy pink vests and fancy pink bags. The addition of the safety vest and the bag upgrades are efforts to continue to chip away at some of the safety assessment suggestions we received. If you have an EA within your learning space, please work with them to find a spot to hang these items for easy access. Thank you!
Good to Great (Review)
Choose 2-3 students to provide “Wise Feedback” to this week – a form of feedback to an individual student that involves voicing high expectations and high beliefs in the student prior to giving constructive feedback. It might sound like this, “I expect all students to treat others with Kindness in this class and I am Grateful for how you have gotten better at naming your emotions. The next time you have a conflict like this with another student, I want you to practice sharing your feelings with an I-Statement and making a more positive choice.”
The 2x4 Strategy (Role Model)
Choose 1 student and commit to investing at least 2 minutes a day for 4 days in a row checking in on them to find out how they are, how their family is doing, and what is 1 feeling they have been experiencing a lot recently. Understand a bit more about their story and build a more authentic connection.
~Spec. Ed. EAs for adjusting when we have no sub coverage and your continued flexibility with the schedule.
~Classroom teachers for welcoming our KHS Child Development students!
~Tanner Tiger for making some time in your busy schedule to stop by for Friday's parade 🐯
~ALL for adjusting your schedules to support the Balloons over Tanner event. An amazing interdisciplinary opportunity for our students. Thank you MAPEL team for your collaboration with one another while planning this event.
