Character Strong - KEY TAKE AWAY - THIS IS SO POWERFUL... "Students care when they know the adult in the room cares about them. Study after
study shows that students are more motivated by who is teaching than what is
being taught. Outcomes like belonging, well-being, and engagement are critical
enablers to learning and set students up for life success."
#MakeKindnessNormal
Ryland - Throughout the year, as a staff, we have given back to the community in a variety of ways with a goal of one donation per quarter. This quarter, we will have a focus on our sweet, heavenly friend Ryland. There will be a donation envelope in the main office. These donations will go towards a garden center gift card. This will be presented to Ryland's family at the end of the school year. Reminder, there will also be a special song, for Ryland, at the 1st grade concert. 💓
- 1st Quarter - Kaukauna Public Library Food Drive
- 2nd Quarter - Children's Hospital Gift Card Donations
- 3rd Quarter - NAMI - Variety of necessary supplies
- 4th Quarter - Ryland's Family - Gift Card for Stein's Garden Center
District Mobile Device Policy Survey - As shared by Mike, please take a minute to share your perspective and current experiences with student cell phones and personal electronic devices. Click here to complete the survey, if you haven't already.
KASD Behavior Survey - Your feedback is important as we look ahead to the 25-26 school year. Behavior is something we talk about often, and we always have a strong desire to support student needs. Please complete this survey, if you haven't already.
Bounce House - We earned this school-wide reward from our fall fundraising company. The PAC generously sponsors a second day so we can ensure all students get the experience. Thank you, Brooke, for building this fun into your PE time.
Be Present. Be Powerful. - This attendance campaign is going great! The weekly calendars are being sent home to remind families of the grade level activities that are planned. Thank you for supporting the idea and continuing to promote good attendance habits and a strong finish to the year.
Creative Characters (Remind)
Print the Emotion Elements poster or create a space where students can see emotion words in 1 place near the entrance of your room. Each morning as students walk in this week (or longer!), invite them to indicate the element or emotion they are feeling in a Creative way. They could point, dance, stare, use fake binoculars, act out the emotion in some way, etc.
~Jean for putting together the weekly calendar, by grade level, for families to see all the end of they year events we have planned.
~ALL for keeping our lounge tidy and organized. The shared space can be tough to keep clean, your support with this and help with the refrigerator clean out is appreciated.
~EAs for once again pitching in where ever support was needed these last couple of weeks. We have some more days ahead without subs. Go Team!
~Heidi & Jess for your creative thinking with a transportation change for a student.
~Laura & Lori for another great ELL family picnic. Thank you to those able to attend!
~Sarah & Kristin for spending a day learning about Character Strong and next steps for leading our staff through year "2-ish" of implementation.
~Polka dancers 😂...you got moves!
