Janet - Please join me in wishing Janet well.  It is with Janet's permission that I share she experienced continued illness over the weekend, which led to the discovery of some major heart problems.  At this time, Janet will be out for an unknown number of days.  Thinking of you, Janet!

New staff - Monday, we will welcome a new 5K student that will include 1:1 nursing support.  Please join me in welcoming Ms. Ashley through Feb. 13.  She will be replaced by Ms. Jessi starting on Feb. 17th. Thank you, Brooke N., McKenna and Sarah Velicer for working together on this transition!

Grant - Congratulations, Ms. Nicole and team for your work on the Autism Society of the Fox Valley grant.  We have been awarded $1000 to support sensory needs within the building.

Classroom Buddies - We will launch 'Honesty' this month.  As in previous months, please find a day/time to connect with classroom buddies.  The students love this time with other students in the building!

Assembly date change - I apologize, I needed to change the date of the assembly this week.  We will meet in the gym on Feb. 7th at 8:40 and 1:55.

Kindness Project - Our Character Development Team has planned a Random Acts of Kindness Week activity.  We will be completing a school-wide kindness project that will include decorating placemats for the St. Paul Home.  Kristin will be sending out the details this week.

Sanitizer - Thank you for the feedback regarding sanitizer in the building.  We have since placed two standing sanitizers in the gym, at the start of the lunch line area.  Additionally, please let Mr. Bob know if you need a bottle for your classroom and he will get you one.

REMINDERS:

Teddy Bear Clinic - Draft Schedule: Beth has created this draft schedule for Feb. 24th Teddy Bear Clinic with our KHS HOSA - Future Health Professionals group.  Like last year, we scheduled 20 minutes for each 5K classroom.

Feb. 12th 11th!- Family Night @ Kaukauna Public Library:  We look forward to having our families at KPL again this year.  This is a great opportunity for them to see the facility, get a library card and promote reading!  Thank you, Janet for planning this event!

Peer observations:  Great start on this document!  Thank you for signing up to observe a colleague for our March PD day. (Yes...lots of time, but it will go by fast:))

Summer School 2025 - Please consider being a part of our Summer School experiences.  Students enjoy seeing teachers they are familiar with.  You are all a very important part of making SS successful. 😊 Interested?  Complete this interest form.  Thank you!

100th Day Challenge - Like last year, we will challenge our entire building to make 100 positive contacts with families.  Preferably, this is a phone call, but email, notes, TP messages work too.  The chart will be posted in the lounge.  Our goal would be to complete this chart by the end of February.

Morning Mood (Role Model)

Let the class know you will be checking in Honestly with them each day this week. At the beginning of class, take a moment to share how you are doing on a scale of 1-10 (and why if you choose!). If you have something specific, you can also ask for support from them in some way through things like words of encouragement or Strong Listening.

~ Laura M-G for your strong relationships with our students and families.  The students were having a blast with you during the indoor recess time you offered!

~McKenna H. & Carissa for your quick paperwork skills!

~ Carrie B. for being a regular ed. rep for a number of IEP revision meetings!

~ Alisha H. for subbing on the PM bus route!

~Kristin for your continued work with student, families and staff as our School Counselor.  You are always so thoughtful and intentional with the many different types of work you take on for us.  Happy School Counselor Appreciation Week!
